New Member Application (Fall)

Dues and Fees

All New Members must pay the following fees at time of application:

  • $50 one-time New Member application fee
  • $135 membership dues
  • $75 fundraising commitment (FC) to be allocated as defined in item II.

The application fee is non-refundable. No refunds of dues/fundraising commitment will be provided unless request is received IN WRITING prior to attending your first event. New Members may set up a payment plan by contacting the Treasurer at treasurer@jlcoloradosprings.org.

  

Requirements

I understand that to progress from New Member status to Active status, I must complete the following by May 31, 2021:  

  1. Committee Placement: Committee requirements are determined by the committee chair for each committee. The committee chair and her Council Vice-President evaluate fulfillment of this requirement using committee charters and membership addenda.
  2. Fundraising Commitment:I commit to allocate my $75 to purchase one or more of the following:
    • Touch-A-Truck entry fee
    • Friend of the League Sponsorship ($250 total cost.), and/or    
    • Tax-deductible donation to the Annual Giving Campaign
  3. Volunteer Shifts:Attend at least(4) volunteer shifts: (2) JLCS shifts and (2) Community Service shifts. It is the responsibility of the League member to sign up for and fulfill all JLCS and Community Service shifts.
  4. General Membership Meetings: Attend at least(3) out of (7) credited General Meetings. For the 2019-20 League year, credited General Membership Meetings are held in September, October, November, January, February, and April. A Neighborhood meeting (credited General Membership Meeting) will be held in March. 
  5. New Member Requirements: Attend at least(3) out of (8) New Member meetings AND attend one session of the New Member Retreat, held twice annually, in September and February.
  6. Active Membership Dues: Payment of annual membership dues of $135 and fundraising commitment of $75 will be required by April 1 each subsequent year. 

Dues/FC paid after your assigned deadline are subject to a $25 late fee. Members wishing to utilize payment plans must contact the Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer and finalize their payment plans PRIOR to the due date.
